Our Commitment towards Sustainable Development

In today’s world, where sustainability has become the basis of corporate governance and responsible business practices, chemical companies face enormous challenges. However, BorsodChem sees these challenges as opportunities.

As one of the largest employers in the region, we have had and will have a significant impact on the lives of our employees and the local community throughout generations. It is our top priority to maintain a stable high level of employee satisfaction, maximum occupational health, and safety.

Nothing proves our high-level social responsibility better than addressing the needs and challenges of local communities.

As a responsible company, we must support global endeavours with our activities. We have redesigned our systems and management practices in order to progress through innovation and the best available practices in tune with the environment. In addition to our numerous projects aiming to reduce our footprint, increase resource efficiency, and facilitate the regeneration of nature, we are dedicated to understanding the full life cycle of materials. Towards supporting the rejuvenation of nature, we minimize our wastes by operating an integrated production system.

Every day we work for a more

sustainable chemical industry

We are actively searching for innovative and forward-looking solutions by inquiring about our stakeholders’ expectations regarding sustainable business processes. As for partnerships built on trust, transparency, accountability, and sustainable operation is a key factor for success. By joining our forces we can fight together to mitigate the impacts of climate change for a greener and more prosperous future.

In 2019, our parent company, the Wanhua Chemical Group, formally joined the group of signatories to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). With this significant step, the Group strengthened its commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility. As a member of the Group, we take resolute actions to align corporate policies, strategy and culture with the spirit of the Ten Principles of the UNGC, while meeting its expectations and actively participating in the sustainable development programs of the UN.

Under the auspices of the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development, UNGC signatories and participants are all at the forefront of sustainability development. It is a great honour for the Wanhua Group and thus for our Company to be one of these companies.
