For our sustainability performance, in 2018 we won a gold EcoVadis award. EcoVadis is an independent, international evaluating organization. Our Golden result placed BorsodChem in the top 3% of the companies in the chemical industry. EcoVadis assesses and rates companies with a unique method in terms of environmental protection, fair employment, human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

University of Miskolc Distinguished Sponsor Award

On September 6, 2019, at the Honorary Senate Meeting of the University of Miskolc, we received the Distinguished Sponsor Award of the University of Miskolc, which our Company played a key role in launching the chemical engineering course, establishment of the Confucius Institute, and the generous financial support of sports at the university.

Bisnode certificate for financial stability

Based on the independent evaluation of Bisnode international rating company BorsodChem was granted Bisnode's AAA (triple-A) certificate for the fifth time since 2016 last year. That rating belongs to only 0.63% of the companies in Hungary, and it indicates that the financial risk of establishing a business relationship with our Company is extremely low.

Industrial Innovation Prize

BorsodChem was awarded the Industrial Innovation Prize 2019 by of Ministry for Innovation and Technology for the complex development of the MDI manufacturing process, a polyurethane raw material.

Family friendly workplace

The Family Friendly Company of the Year Award has been announced for small, medium, and large companies to encourage the corporate sector and promote family-friendly good practices. Our Company won the title of Family Friendly Company (2019) at this event.

Factory of The Year Award

In 2019, the GyártásTrend technology magazine announced the Factory of the Year competition for the 5th time, the aim of which - based on complex criteria - is to find the manufacturing company of the year and winners of the announced categories that shape the domestic industry, the employer culture and create new value in the domestic market every year.
In addition to the most effective production support processes and the energy efficiency category victory, BorsodChem Zrt. was also chosen as the overall winner of the Factory of The Year contest in the category of annual net sales revenue of over HUF 10 billion.

DreamJo.bs has announced the Lovable Workplaces competition for the fourth time in which a record number of nearly 1,100 entries were received. On the basis of online votes, BorsodChem has also been ‘added to the Map of Lovable Workplaces’ (TOP 195) and we are among the most attractive workplaces in Hungary.

In 2019, BorsodChem was awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal for Sustainability once again. Our Company continued to improve and is ranked in the top 2 percent of chemical companies assessed.

For our sustainability activities in 2020, surpassing the previous year's performance we received the platinum medal for the first time in the international rating system of EcoVadis. In the latest survey, our Company achieved further improvement and is now in the top 1% among chemical companies assessed by the rating agency EcoVadis.

At the Business and Finance Summit 2018, the CFO of BorsodChem, Mr. István Hegedűs received the CFO Master 2018 Award for financial leaders with an outstanding performance, for which only companies with an outstanding business performance are eligible, and which met the requirements regarding markedly complex investment, financing and other challenges in the past period.

"Maintainer of the Year 2017” Award

At the XXX. International Maintenance Conference, Mr. Lajos Szabó, Director Central Maintenance received the Maintainer of the Year 2017 Award for the developments of maintenance systems and technical diagnostics, improvement of the quality of maintenance activity as well as the development of the succession program and organization of the 1st Hungarian Turnaround Conference.

Safe workplace and operational safety

In 2018, two of our firefighters received a prestigious award at the Hungarian Firefighting Association’s national celebration for years of their outstanding performance and successful work. Mr. Ferenc Hanász received the Award of the Interior Minister, while Mr. Pál Haskó received the Award of Gróf Ödön Széchenyi.
